Today’s guest is Calvin Sharrer, Marketing & Career Representative for the Hobart Institute of Welding.
Calvin grew up like so many. He was told that if he wanted to succeed the surest path was to spend four years in college, so that’s exactly what he did and has a Political Science degree to show for it. Like so many more, his degree did not get put to use in the manner that he originally envisioned. With a life-long love for auto mechanics, he pursued a career in auto mechanics before recruiting for Lincoln College of Technology.
From there, Calvin was able to pursue what he had come to realize was his definition of success by working for the Hobart Institute of Welding and helping students find their own success in the skilled trades.
His philosophy can be summed up in one quote by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (von gurta) “If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they wish to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming”
As always, this show is not monetized & we don’t run ads. We rely strictly on the word of mouth from our listeners to grow the show. So if you enjoy this episode, please take a moment to rate, review, and share. The future generations of tradespeople depend on it. On you! So thank you again and enjoy this episode of Blue is the New White with Calvin Sharrer
