Today, I sit down with another inspiring young woman. Dee
Durant got her first taste of the skilled trades when she was
in high school. But she was fascinated with the weather and still
intended on setting out to be a meteorologist. Discussing a more
practical career path with her parents, she ended up pursuing a
career in the trades despite being told she was too smart.
Hmmm, where have we heard that before?
Once she made the decision to be in the trades, she went to school
to be a power line technician, but eventually decided against that
path. Not wanting to hang up her tool belt just yet, she remembered
her love of the weather. Drawing the association between lightening
and electricity she decided to remain in the trades as an
electrician.
Realizing that her definition of success was to help and inspire
people to better their lives, she joined forces with KickAss
Careers as an ambassador and has found a way to pursue all of
her passions using the skilled trades as the ultimate catalyst.
