Blue is the New White Podcast

Dec 4, 2020

Today’s guest is an interesting one. As you all know, I usually talk to blue collar trades people or advocates, but my definition of the skilled trades extends far beyond that. Basically, anything that requires some form of formal education that isn’t a typical 4 year college. So I sit down with Mike Roberts, a 32 year veteran in software coding, and founder of San Diego Code School.

Mike had an interesting journey to get to where he is today, mainly coding as a hobby. He went to college for accounting, although by his own admission probably spent more time DJing. But it wasn’t long before he realized that accounting was not his idea of success. After jumping from job to job after college he found his way back to the tech space and built his own success around that.

This episode switches from BLUE collar to NEW collar and shows you yet another career path that can also be considered a skilled trade. Listen and learn all about what options are available to those who want to be in software development. And what a career in this path looks like!

As always, this show is not monetized & we don’t run ads. We rely strictly on the word of mouth from our listeners to further the mission. So if you enjoyed this episode, please take a moment to rate, review, and share. The future generations of tradespeople depend on it. On you! So thank you again and enjoy this episode of Blue is the New White with Mike Roberts.
