Blue is the New White Podcast

Dec 11, 2020

Today I get to sit down with another great ambassador for Kick Ass Careers! Courtney Chard is a UA Local 46 Steamfitter & welder. In her spare time she puts her skills to use in an unconventional way by sculpting art from scrap metal. Make sure you head over to her Instagram page after the show, or during the show to see her creations. And now, her 7 year old daughter is ALSO a Kick Ass ambassador.

Courtney went the typical route growing up, going to college, and veering from the trades because she was a woman. When she decided she wouldn’t accept being stuck in a career she didn’t enjoy, she made a change. She went to night school for welding & blueprints and eventually landed in the UA.

That came with it’s own set of challenges, but she never waivered from her objective: to pursue a career that made her happy and fulfilled.

Courtney shares so many inspiring stories about mentorship, helping people, and all of the great opportunities she had in the trades to grow as a person. Her definition of success: To be happy & joyful, but never content.

As always, this show is not monetized & we don’t run ads. We rely strictly on the word of mouth from our listeners to further the mission. So if you enjoyed this episode, please take a moment to rate, review, and share. The future generations of tradespeople depend on it. On you! So thank you again and enjoy this episode of Blue is the New White with Courtney Chard.
