Today’s guest has a wonderful, relatable story about how he fell into the trades at 16 years old and never looked back. Zack Hartle is an electrical apprentice instructor at SAIT, and also hosts a Youtube channel that teaches electrical code & theory.
Zack was only looking for a way to stay out of the classroom in high school so he found the best course of action was to enroll in an apprenticeship program for work experience. He ended up in electrical, working in new construction before being moved to the service side at 18 years old. He then worked his way up the ranks and entered several skills competitions. What a journey being disqualified from the first one to, getting bronze in the second, gold in the third, and finally ending up in a global skills competition in Germany in 2013.
At 25 years old Zach then shifted to instructing and has been working for SAIT ever since, instilling his wisdom in the minds of those looking to better themselves or enter in the industry.
Listen in to hear his story and how he got to where he is today with hard work, an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and a drive to pursue new opportunities.
